Dutch Oven Lasagna (4-6 Scouts)

This can be done with just the dutch oven, but an extra skillet will save some effort

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs of 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 jars of tomato sauce
  • 1 lbs shredded mozzarella
  • 16 oz of ricotta cheese
  • 1 box of oven ready lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried organo
    • Substitute Mrs. Dash for basil and oregano to prevent having to purchase separately

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink (10 coals)
  2. Add both jars of tomato sauce and heat until bubbling, remove from heat
  3. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, eggs and seasoning
  4. Line Dutch Oven with aluminum foil or Dutch Oven liner
  5. Put 2 scoops of meat mixture on bottom of oven, spread around bottom of DO
  6. Place 2 lasagna noodles on bottom
  7. Place 1 spoonful of ricotta cheese on each noodle and GENTLY spread along noodle
  8. Place 1 scoop on each of the noodles and GENTLY spread along noodle
  9. Sprinkle one handful of mozzarella cheese on top
  10. Repeat steps 6-9 until you run out of mixtures
  11. Place 9 coals on bottom and 16 on top for 25 minutes
