Dutch Oven Lasagna (4-6 Scouts)
This can be done with just the dutch oven, but an extra skillet will save some effort
Ingredients
- 1 lbs of 85/15 ground beef
- 1 jars of tomato sauce
- 1 lbs shredded mozzarella
- 16 oz of ricotta cheese
- 1 box of oven ready lasagna noodles
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried organo
- Substitute Mrs. Dash for basil and oregano to prevent having to purchase separately
Directions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink (10 coals)
- Add both jars of tomato sauce and heat until bubbling, remove from heat
- In a separate bowl, mix ricotta, eggs and seasoning
- Line Dutch Oven with aluminum foil or Dutch Oven liner
- Put 2 scoops of meat mixture on bottom of oven, spread around bottom of DO
- Place 2 lasagna noodles on bottom
- Place 1 spoonful of ricotta cheese on each noodle and GENTLY spread along noodle
- Place 1 scoop on each of the noodles and GENTLY spread along noodle
- Sprinkle one handful of mozzarella cheese on top
- Repeat steps 6-9 until you run out of mixtures
- Place 9 coals on bottom and 16 on top for 25 minutes
